CIRCLE OF FOURTH AND CIRCLE OF FIFTH (things you must know about them) (part 4)

DIA-TONE AND TRI-TONE SUBSTITUTION FOR THE CIRCLE OF FOURTH AND CIRCLE OF FIFTH

I want to show you a quick look at dia-tone and tri-tone
In the key of C
A dia-tone mean holding a hold a major third interval in the root( left hand)  and also a quartal voicing in the right hand as the chord

USE OF TRITONE IN THE CIRCLES

Quick review of tri-tone
Tri means three movement of major second interval (that C » D » E » F♯)

Key
Root (left hand)
Major chord (2nd inversion)
C
C F♯
B E A♭

This is how to pick a tri-tone. The mystery about the tri-tone is that it is form from dominant chord (1 3 5 b7 — 3 and b7 form the tri-tone). Therefore, the tri-tone can replace our dominant chord as chord substitutions and lastly we will use the know of dominant chord to apply the tri-tone. Here is it.

NOTE: practice first on the keys you are convenient with, do not limit yourself on a key but practice this on all keys

Thanks I hope this helps.
